Creating and editing posts
Write posts in the block editor, set the slug, excerpt, cover image, and SEO fields.
Posts are the heart of your blog. Create one from Posts → New post, or turn an AI Studio draft into a post.
In the editor
- Title — also used to generate the URL slug (which you can edit).
- Body — a rich block editor for headings, lists, images, quotes, and code.
- Excerpt — a short summary shown on cards, archives, and in search results.
- Cover image — the featured image used on the post and in social previews.
- Categories & tags — assign topics and labels (see the taxonomy guide).
- SEO — meta title, meta description, focus keyword, and canonical URL.
Revisions
Every save keeps a revision history, so you can track changes over time. Your post stays a draft until you move it through the workflow and publish.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change a post's URL slug?
Yes. The slug is generated from the title but you can edit it. Each slug is unique within your blog. Changing a published post's slug changes its URL, so do it sparingly.
What's the difference between the excerpt and the meta description?
The excerpt is shown to readers on cards and archives. The meta description is for search engines and social previews. If you leave the meta description empty, the excerpt is used.
