How posts move from draft to published, and what each status means.
Every post has a status that reflects where it is in your workflow.
Statuses
- Draft — a work in progress; not visible on your blog.
- In review — submitted for an editor to check.
- Approved — signed off and ready to go out.
- Scheduled — set to publish automatically at a chosen time.
- Published — live on your public blog.
- Archived — removed from the blog but kept for your records.
Only published posts appear on your reader site, in the sitemap, and in the RSS feed. Who can move a post to published depends on their role — writers create drafts, while editors and above can publish.
Frequently asked questions
Why isn't my post showing on the blog?
Only posts with the Published status appear on the public blog. Check that the status is Published (not Draft, Approved, or Scheduled) and that the publish date isn't in the future.
